Friends of Walker

Friends of Walker is a group of dedicated individuals that seek to improve the lives of the children Walker serves through volunteering and fundraising. Friends of Walker also provides its members with the opportunity to network, develop new skills, and to have fun with their peers. Through our efforts we look to share with the community the great work Walker is doing for severely at-risk children and their families.

What Does Friends of Walker Do?

Friends of Walker gets together to:

  • Volunteer Plan and attend activities with the children at Walker. Some examples of activities include: playing bingo, dodgeball, throwing holiday parties, and doing arts and crafts.
  • Socialize This is a great opportunity to meet new people, make new friends, network, and have a great time with other volunteers from the Boston area.
  • Fundraise We raise money for the Friends of Walker and for Walker. In the past, we have held successful 3 on 3 basketball tournaments and Boston Harbor cruises.
